Alice M. Hollingsworth

Alice M. Hollingsworth, 65, of Ottumwa, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died at 12:02 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Hospice House in Ottumwa.

A funeral services was held at 10:30 a.m. today, Nov. 13, at Reece Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bryan Wyldes officiating. Burial was in Shaul Cemetery.

Alice was born Feb. 6, 1942 in Ottumwa, the daughter of Ernest and Mary Kight Dudley. On Sept. 16, 1967, she married Donald R. Hollingsworth in Ottumwa.

A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, she owned and operated Zips Burgers in Ottumwa, managed South Ottumwa McDonald's and managed the Heartland Inn in Mt. Pleasant until she retired. She was a member of the chamber of commerce in Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by a son, Leo Hollingsworth and his wife Susie of Ottumwa; two daughters, Debbie Paris and her husband Johnny and Tammy Shewry and her husband Tom Jones of Ottumwa; her mother, Mary Dudley of Ottumwa; two brothers, David Eslinger of Ottumwa and Dick Dudley of Japan; three sisters, Martha Peyton of Ottumwa, Cheryl Van Skike of Drakesville and Teresa Sell of Streamwood, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.

Her father and two brothers, Mike and Melvin Dudley, preceded her in death.
