Alice M. Neff

Alice M. Neff, 89, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Greenmound community, died at 5:20 P.M. on Saturday, July 1, 2000 at Mapleleaf Healthcare Center, Mt. Pleasant.

Visitation will begin at Noon on Wednesday, July 5, 2000 at Weir Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant where the Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 P.M. Wednesday evening.

Funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, July 6, 2000 at Weir Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Ray Draper officiating.

Interment will be held in Cottonwood Cemetery, west of Wayland, Iowa.

A memorial has been established to Greenmound Church of God.

Mrs. Neff was born on May 4, 1911 near Greenmound community west of Trenton, Iowa in Henry Co. to Jacob and Martha E. Smith Sinn. On February 14, 1941 at Trenton, Iowa, she married Fred S. Neff who preceded her in death on September 8, 1962.

She was a homemaker and worked at Kozy Cafe in Mt. Pleasant for over 17 years. She was a member of Greenmound Church of God and W.S.C.S. of her church.

She is survived by four grandchildren ? Robert Neff and Carolee Hird ? both of Mt. Pleasant, Belinda Osborn of Mountain View, Calif., Judy Neff of Salina, Iowa; 4 step grandchildren ? Donald Ochs of Maryland, Stephen Sawyer of Cullman, Alab., David Sawyer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Pam Sawyer of Long Island City, N.Y., and 5 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, one son ? Fred A. Neff, one daughter ? Lois Neff, 1 step granddaughter ? Kelly Ochs, 3 brothers ? John, Wade, and Walter Sinn, one sister ? Mary Hill, and a 1/2 sister ? Ethel Smith.
