Alice L. (Fillion) McFarland, age 95, of Washington, Iowa, passed away May 18, 2019.

A graveside service and interment with military honors will be held Friday, June 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth with Father Bernie Weir Officiating. A general memorial has been established. Alice was born March 13, 1924 in Littleton, New Hampshire, the daughter of Cyrille and Antoinette Fillion. She had 2 older brothers (Edward and Robert) and two younger brothers (Francis and Roger). She attended catholic school in Littleton. Alice served in the military during WWII. While in the military, she met and married fellow soldier Lloyd "Red" McFarland. They were wed in Bangor, Maine on May 12, 1945. They made their home in Ainsworth, Iowa. She worked as a nurse's aide in the long term care unit at Washington County Hospital for many years.

Alice was later married to Herman Kron. They lived in Washington and enjoyed gardening and pampering their dogs.

Alice enjoyed getting together with family for backyard BBQs. She loved gathering with her friends and visiting about any and all flowers. Alice was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Washington

Alice is survived by her 2 sons, David and Becky McFarland of Lake Ozark, Missouri; Daniel and Cheri McFarland of Ainsworth; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Red, in 1974; and two brothers, Edward and Roger.
