Allene Florence Forbes

LONE TREE ? Allene Florence Forbes, 88, of Iowa City, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, in Lantern Park Care Center in Coralville.

    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 22, at the Lone Tree American Legion.  Burial will be in the Lone Tee Cemetery.  Following the interment, there will be a time of food and fellowship at the Lone Tree American Legion.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree.  Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or St. Mark?s Methodist Church of Iowa City.

    Mrs. Forbes was born May 20, 1921, in Grandview, the daughter of Glen Kelly and Irma Clara (Schafer) Buster.  She married Lester LaVerne Forbes on June 25, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo.
