Alvin D. Graber

Alvin Dean Graber, 91, of Newton, Kan., formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Kansas Christian Home in Newton.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday, Nov. 7, at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with family present at 5 p.m. and a sharing service at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Bethel Mennonite Cemetery, with Robert Hartzler officiating.

A general memorial has been established.

He was born March 16, 1917, in Wayland, the son of John and Josephine Roth Graber. On Dec. 21, 1941, he married Elizabeth Amanda Alston in Wayland.

A farmer, he worked at Graber' Home Improvement in Washington until 1986, when he moved to Freeman, S.D. He was a member of the Mennonite Church.
