Alvin 'Dutch' Ray Schlabach

      MARENGO - Alvin "Dutch" Ray Schlabach, 77, of Marengo died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007 in the Marengo Memorial Hospital in Marengo following a lingering illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 in the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with Brother Duane Brenneman officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Memorials may be made to a fund for missionary work.

      Mr. Schlabach was born Feb. 5, 1930 in Sharon Center, the son of Simon and Mary (Hochstetler) Schlabach. He married Joyce Stutzman on July 30, 1955 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
