Alvin Francis Vittetoe

Alvin Francis Vittetoe, 78, of Washington, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, in Halcyon House in Washington following a lengthy illness.

    Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 26, at St. James Catholic Church in Washington with the Rev. Paul Appel and the Rev. Ed Fitzpatrick officiating.  Burial with military honors conducted by Washington American Legion Post 29 will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.  Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington where the family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m.  Prayer services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials have been established to Hospice of Washington County, Halcyon House Health Care Center, or to St. James Church.

    Mr. Vittetoe was born May 25, 1931, in Harper, the son of John and Irene (Peiffer) Vittetoe.  He married Jeanette Elizabeth Greiner on April 23, 1955, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Keota.
