Amanda S. Milford

Amanda S. Milford, 33, of Des Moines died Monday, July 24, 2017 at Unity Point Health Care Center in Des Moines.

A celebration of life for Amanda will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will follow at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be held Friday, July 28 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Peterseim Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the family's use.

Amanda Sue Milford was born March 7, 1984 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Bill Milford and Bessie Milford-Dykstra.

Amanda loved her cats: Lily, Chyna, Precious and Blue.

Survivors include her mother Bessie Milford-Dykstra of Des Moines; step-father Dennis Caley of Algona; grandmother Velma Milford of Iowa City; aunt Robin (Dustin) Pickart of Iowa City; three half siblings: Amy Cummings of Hopkinton, Amber Cummings of Manchester, Dennis (Blanca) Cummings of Texas; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding Amanda in death was her father Bill Milford, three grandpas, one grandma and great-grandparents
