Amel W. Miller August 29, 1918 - August 26, 2003

      Amel Wayne Miller, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at his home.

      The Miller family will hold a private time of remembrance. Burial will be at a later date at the Keokuk National Cemetery. Mr. Miller has donated his body to the Deeded Body Program at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City for medical science research.

      Survivors include his wife of Park Place Care Center in Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Shirley and her husband Dan Spray of West Union, and Theresa and her husband John Robertson of Farmington; two sons, Amel and his wife Barb Miller of Owasso, Okla., and Raymond and his wife Debbie Miller of Keokuk; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Carrey of Danville, and Esther Bowles of Denver, Colo.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank Miller; and a sister, Gladys Nau.
