Amelia Velasco

      Amelia Velasco, 64, of Washington, died Monday, June 16, 2008, in the Washington Care Center following a lengthy illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18 in the St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Dennis Martin officiating. Visitation will begin at noon today in the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Mexico. A general memorial fund has been established.

      Mrs. Velasco was born June 12, 1944 in Durango, Mexico, the daughter of Osbaldo and Camila (Hernandez) Rodriguez. She married Miguel Velasco in 1977 in Mexicali, Mexico.
