Anna C. Edwards, age 84, of Wayland, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Parkview Home in Wayland, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Faith Baptist Church, with Pastor Jon Rees officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Grace Hill Cemetery. Memorials have been established for Hospice Compassus or the compassion fund or missions at Faith Baptist Church. Online condolences may be sent for Anna’s family at www.jonesfh.com.
Anna was born March 1, 1940, in Fairfield, Iowa, the daughter of Frederick and Nevada (Shondel) Bradley. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1958. Anna was united in marriage to Howard Eugene Miller on July 22, 1958, in Fairfield, Iowa. She later married Donald Edwards.
Anna spent most of her life in Washington. Early in life, Anna worked as a waitress at the White Front Café in Fairfield, and then at the McCleery Cumming Calendar Factory for several years. She later worked at Advance Ross for 11 years, and spent 36 years working at Modine.
Anna was a devoted member of Faith Baptist Church and helped as the Activity Director. Anna was also an avid sports fan, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and the St. Louis Cardinals. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and doing word searches.
Anna is survived by her children: Ted (Vickie Patterson) Miller of Washington, Iowa, Todd (Denise) Miller of Kalona, Iowa, and Greg (Josie) Miller of Shellsburg, Iowa; six step-children: Mark Edwards, Jim Edwards, Donnie Edwards, Tim Edwards, Dave Edwards, and Donna Edwards; five grandchildren: Rebecca, Bradley, Holley, Luke, and Lindsey; three great-grandchildren: Lexie, Isabelle, and Hannah; and one great great-granddaughter, Audria.
Anna was preceded in death by her father, Frederick Bradley; mother, Nevada Russell and step-father Gaylord Russell; son, Bryan Miller; brothers, Jack, Jim, Tom, Pete, Charles, Mike, John, and Jerry; sisters, Phyllis and Linda; and one great-grandson, Keegan.
