Anna White
Anna May White, 78, of Casa Grande, Ariz., formerly of Crawfordsville and Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in Casa Grande.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the First Presbyterian Church in Casa Grande with the Rev. Rick Lemberg officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 in the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Swedesburg with the Rev. Philip Borleske officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11 at the Weir Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, where family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. that evening. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society Chapter in Casa Grande, Ariz.
Mrs. White was born May 11, 1921, in Crawfordsville, the daughter of Harold and Rosena Johns White. She was married to David White. Raised in the Crawfordsville area, she lived in Mt. Pleasant until moving to Idaho in 1976. She worked for Idaho National Energy (Nuclear Power) Laboratories as a secretary until 1989. She then retired and moved to Arizona, where she worked at Central Arizona College. She volunteered at Arizona DES and received the Volunteer of the Year Award twice. She was a former member of the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church and a current member of the First Presbyterian Church in Casa Grande.
Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie Meikrantz of Carson City, Nev.; three sons, David White of Seattle, Wash., Earl White of Omaha, Neb., and Richard White of Casa Grande, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one grandson.
