Tony Sobaski was born on May 6, 1963, in Fairfield, IA to Richard and Lucille Simmons Sobaski. He was raised on the family farm and had a love for farming from day one. His early education was in Brighton before graduating from Washington High School in 1981. Upon graduation he continued to farm alongside his father. In his younger years Tony fed his wild side by bull riding at local fairs and rodeos or tearing up and down the road in his Trans Am. Tony’s priorities began to change when he met the love of his life, Karla. He became a proud stepfather of two sons, Scott and Tom, and added to the family with the addition of his children, Cody, Cassey, and Kyle. Tony had learned the value of hard work and a firm handshake from an early age. He supported the family by working on the farm and spent several years driving a feed truck for the Farmers Co-Op in Keota. He enjoyed watching his children grow up around agriculture and the family farm that he had called home for so many years. Tony was always up for a good time and was willing to help anyone. The addition of grandchildren opened a new chapter for him, and he cherished every minute in their presence. Tony will be deeply missed by his family, his community, and the many friends he made along the way.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to share his story are his loving wife, Karla Sobaski of Brighton, IA; three children, Cody (Rachelle) Sobaski of Brighton, IA, Cassey Kaye Sobaski of Nashville, TN, and Kyle Sobaski of Brighton, IA; two stepsons, Scott (Carrie) Davies of Washington, IA and Tom (Teri) Davies of North Liberty, IA; seven grandchildren, Mia, Emmee, Cash, Rebel, Laina, Hudson, and Colt; two siblings, Brenda (Dennis) Morris and Donny (Kara) Sobaski, as well as many extended family and friends.
