APRIL JOYCE PLUMMER
Belton, Mo.
April Joyce Plummer, 39, of Belton, Mo., passed away on Nov. 10, 2019, at her home.
April was born on Christmas Day of 1979, to Clark and Trudy (Foster) Plummer in Burlington, Iowa. She graduated from Fairfield High School, where she particularly enjoyed participating in the school music program. After high school graduation, she attended Mid-America Nazarene University, where she earned her B.A. degree.
April's capacity for love and patience was especially evident when working with children. This lead her to become a pre-school teacher upon college graduation, and later into full time service as a children's pastor.
In 2011, she was diagnosed as having Pulmonary Hypertension. Since that time, she has fought a good fight to live some resemblance of a normal life. With God's help and strength, she was always full of laughter, as well as, positive encouragement for all of those she came in contact with. She truly was an inspiration to those close to her.
April always was ready for a very competitive game of scrabble with family – or anyone for that matter. She always had an opinion on just about any topic and was ready for a discussion (debate) at any opportunity. In addition, she provided a listening ear whenever someone needed one.
Family was very important to April. April was very important to the family. She especially was devoted to her nieces, Ivy and Isabel Chisi. She loved them with abandonment doting on them at every opportunity available.
Faith was paramount in April's life. She loved Jesus and knew He loved her. She was a vital member of Mission Church, Lenexa, Kan.
April is survived by her loving father and stepmother, Clark and Josephine Plummer; her sister, Angela Chisi; stepbrother, Sam Smith; stepsister, Laura Danaher; grandfather, Al Foster; grandmother, Delores Plummer; and her extended family including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Trudy Jane Plummer; her grandmother, Joyce Foster; grandfather, Leo Plummer; and her cousins, Terry Ryan Hooker, Kelsi Renee Foster and Quincy Lynn Foster.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel, Olathe, Kan., with burial to follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association are welcome.
