Ardith J. Ingmanson, 86, of rural Winfield died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, at the Swedesburg Evangelical Church with the Rev. Philip Borleske officiating. Interment will follow at the Swedesburg Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9 at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield. There will be no family visitation. Memorials have been established for the Swedesburg Church and the Swedesburg Museum.
Mrs. Ingmanson was born April 12, 1914, in Burlington, the daughter of Lawrence and Nellie Carlson Larson. She married Philip Ingmanson on Nov. 22, 1942 in Swedesburg. She was a graduate of the Olds High School and of Augustana College. She received her Masters Degree in Music from the University of Southern California. She taught elementary and high school music, most recently at Olds and Crawfordsville before her retirement. She was a member of the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was active over the years with music and served as choir director for many years. She was a member of the Henry County Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Swedesburg Museum and Heritage Society.
Survivors include her husband of rural Winfield; three daughters, Janine Carlson and Loraine Borys, both of Rockford, Ill.; Gail Smith of Kirksville, Mo.; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
