MOUNT VERNON ? Aric Asher Campbell, 35, of Mount Vernon, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015.
Primary visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8, at Stewart Baxter Funeral and Memorial Services in Mount Vernon. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 9, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cedar Rapids Stake Center, located at 4150 Blue Jay Drive NE in Cedar Rapids, with a short visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m. A private family burial will be at Mount Vernon cemetery. A memorial education for his children has been set up at Hills Bank. Contributions can be made at any Hills Bank location.
Mr. Campbell was born Aug. 7, 1980, in Yankton, South Dakota, the eldest child of Douglas Dean and Tae Marie (Lafevers) Campbell. He married Jennifer Sue Gilbert on Jan. 28, 2004, in Nauvoo, Illinois.
He grew up in Wellman and graduated from Wellman/Mid-Prairie High School in 1998. He was also an Eagle Scout. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in Tempe, Arizona. He always had a thoughtful, intelligent nature, and fiercely loved family. He freely gave of himself to others with a clever wit and sense of humor.
Surviving are his wife of 11 years, Jenn; two children, Emmaline Olive, age 10, and Aiden Broderick Campbell, age 9; his parents, Doug and Tae of Wellman; brothers and sisters, Amy Overy and husband Allen of Riverton, Wyoming, Neal Campbell and wife Whitney of Wellman, Jodi Baldwin and husband Scott of Muscatine, Jessica Overy and husband Bryan of Rexburg, Idaho, Bethany Lingard and husband Mark of Kinross, Ryan, and Erin Campbell of Wellman; his grandparents, Cleo and Marilyn Campbell of Viborg, South Dakota, and Dewie and Betty Lafevers of Bingen, Washington; and 18 nieces and nephews.
