Arthur A. 'Al' Hite

      DAVENPORT - Arthur A. "Al" Hite, 70, of Davenport, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at Genesis Medical Center East Campus in Davenport following a sudden illness.

      Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. today at Christ United Methodist Church in Davenport with the Rev. Mike Janes officiating. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park. Military honors were conducted by American Legion Post 26. Memorials may be directed to Handicapped Development Center or to a charity of the donor's choice. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport was in charge of the arrangements.

      Mr. Hite was born Jan. 26, 1939, in Oskaloosa, the son of Arthur Hugh and Pauline Anita (Gable) Hite. He married Mary K. Meyer on Feb. 17, 1999 in Jamaica.
