Arthur Alvin Ward

Arthur Alvin Ward, 103, of Arbor Court Care Center in Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Mediapolis, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at the care center.

      The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23 at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, with the Rev. Dan Baker officiating. Burial will follow at the Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22 at the funeral home, with family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorials have been established to the First Baptist Church of Mediapolis and the Mediapolis Community Ambulance Service.

Survivors include his wife of Mediapolis; a daughter, Arlene Rude Wright of Mt. Pleasant; and a granddaughter, Jeanette Proenneke of Mt. Pleasant.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
