Audrey DeFaye Finke, 90, of Washington, Iowa, formerly of Crawfordsville, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the Halcyon House in Washington.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2022, at the United Church of Crawfordsville in Crawfordsville, Iowa, where the family will be present to receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Services will be live streamed on the Jones & Eden Facebook page. Interment will take place at the Cambrian Cemetery in rural Columbus Junction, Iowa. Memorials have been established for the United Church of Crawfordsville or the Iowa Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Audrey was born March 7, 1931, in rural Louisa County, the daughter of Evan I. and Jessie (Moody) Rees. She graduated from Wyman High School and attended the American Institute of Commerce in Davenport, Iowa. Audrey was united in marriage to Silas "Jay" Finke Jr. on Dec. 1, 1949, in rural Louisa County.
She grew up in Louisa County and lived in Washington County near Crawfordsville before moving to Washington in 2003. She was a member of the United Church of Crawfordsville, the Braden Neighborhood Club, and served on the Advisory Board to Public Health Nurses for 21 years.
She is survived by her son, Randy Finke and wife Linda of Crawfordsville, Iowa; son-in-law, Andy Rowe and wife Melody of Marengo, Iowa; four grandchildren, Adam Rowe and wife Katie of Williamsburg, Iowa, Amy Nicholson and husband Nate of Ottumwa, Iowa, Josh Anhalt and wife Trista of Atkins, Iowa, and Katelyn Anhalt of Phoenix, Arizona; 10 great grandchildren and a foreign exchange student, Mona Lisa Rodgers of Augusta, Georgia. Audrey is also survived by her sister, Frieda Finke of Crawfordsville, Iowa; sister-in-law, Janet Rees of Columbus Junction, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Verla Finke of Iowa City, Iowa.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2002; daughter, Julie Rowe; brother, Donald Rees; sister, Wilma Arthur and her husband Ken; and two brothers-in-law, Merl Finke and Clyde Finke.
