Avery M. McCoy

KALONA ? Avery M. McCoy, 17 months old, of Riverside, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at her home.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, at the funeral home. A general memorial fund has been established.

Avery was born May 31, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, the daughter of Anthony McCoy and Ambrashia Chrzan.

She enjoyed riding in her wagon, having her picture taken, and playing with her older brother and sister.

Surviving are her parents, of Riverside; 11 siblings, Amarii, Lamont, Montavias, Nevaeh, Dakest, Ayonie, Amayah, Anthony III, Anthony Jr., Anica, and Adrien; her maternal grandparents, Kimberly Decker and husband Nolan of Riverside; her paternal grandparents, Maxine Gladney and Lamont Rogers of Chicago, Illinois; her great-grandparents, Kay and Craig Rathje of Cedar Rapids, John Decker of Coralville, and Deloris McCoy of Chicago; her maternal great-great-grandfather, John Decker of Kalona; and a number of aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Dakarai; her maternal great-grandparents, Doyle and Donna Spencer, and Francis and Diane Chrzan; her paternal grandfather, William McCoy; and one uncle.
