Barbara J. Brown, 65, of Carbon Cliff, Ill. died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island, Ill.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Family Funeral Services in Colona, Ill. Burial will be in Hampton Township Cemetery in Hampton, Ill. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15 and from 10 a.m. to the time of service Wednesday at Family Funeral Services. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mrs. Brown was born July 17, 1934, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Rodney and Lela Sheahan Perrenoud. She married Lyman DeWayne Brown on May 25, 1956, in Winfield. She received her two-year teaching degree from Iowa Wesleyan College. She taught in Letts and was a substitute teacher in Carbon Cliff, Ill. She was retired from her position as a village clerk in Carbon Cliff, Ill.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen L. Brown of East Moline, Ill. and Kathryn Nitz of Moline, Ill.; two sons, Thomas M. Brown of Harlan and Jerry W. Brown of Moline, Ill.; one sister, Beverly McElhinney of Crawfordsville; one brother, Robert Perrenoud of Winfield; one aunt and one uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Shahan of Mt. Pleasant; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, William Perrenoud.
