Barbara Jean Jennings

    Barbara Jean Jennings, 74, of Washington, formerly of Corydon, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, in Halcyon House in Washington following a two-year battle with cancer.

    Celebration of life services in conjunction with Eastern Star services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 31, at the Corydon United Methodist Church in Corydon with the Rev. John Boatman officiating.  Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church where the family will receive friends.  The family will also receive friends from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Alexis Cemetery in Alexis, Ill.  Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the cemetery with the Rev. Cindy Redding officiating.  Memorials may be directed to the Corydon Care Center, Hospice of Washington County, Halcyon House in Washington or the American Cancer Society.  The Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington is handling the arrangements.

    Mrs. Jennings was born Feb. 26, 1935, in Little York, Ill., the daughter of Milburn ?Bud? Theodore and Lola Marie (Dennison) Brown.
