Barbara Kay Wheeler, 72, of Fairfield, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2020, at her home. A visitation to celebrate Barb's life will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family and mailed to Clarissa Denny, 908 N. Ninth St., Fairfield, IA 52556. She has been cremated and burial will be at a later date.

Barb was born Aug. 29, 1947, in Kirksville, Mo., to William Brice and Ruby Fern (Ingersoll) Walker. She married Huey Lee Wheeler on Sept. 28, 1969, at Middletown Presbyterian Church. They later divorced.

Barb lived in the Fairfield are for the last 11 years. Prior to that, she lived in Brighton and Middletown. She was a beautician, nanny and customer service rep for Casey's. Some of Barb's inside interests were crocheting, knitting, reading, watching John Wayne movies and working on family genealogy. If anybody every needed a ride she would always volunteer to take them.

She will be missed by her children, James Wheeler, Brian Wheeler, Clarissa (Eric) Denny and Christopher (Emily) Wheeler, all of Fairfield; four grandchildren, Sonya Ellis, Edwin Denny, Anthony Wheeler and David Wheeler; and two siblings, Bonnie Criswell of Piketon, Ohio, and William Walker of Brighton.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruby; and three grandsons, William and Harley Wheeler and Brandon Denny.
