Berniece E. Chrissinger

Berniece E. Chrissinger, 87 of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Bloomfield, died Tuesday, April 1, at her home in Mt. Pleasant.

Her body has been cremated. A graveside service will be held at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield at a later date.

She was born May 8, 1920, in Lancaster, Mo., the daughter of Joseph and Cecile Zaerr Norman. On May 20, 1938, she married Arthur Hining. He preceded her in death; on September 12, 1958, she married Allan W. Chrissinger.

She worked at the Five and Dime Store in Bloomfield and later as head secretary for the telephone office in Bloomfield. She was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church and the Rebecca Number 1 of the World Club.

She is survived by two children, Barbara Leasure of Ottumwa and A. LaVern Hining of Iowa City; a sister, Alberta Weaver of Algona; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Her parents, one brother, three sisters and one grandson preceded her in death.
