Bessie Palmer

Bessie Alice "Betty" Palmer, 87, of Grinnell, died Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Friendship Manor in Grinnell.

      The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23 at First Friends Church in Grinnell, with Pastor Todd Follette officiating. Burial will be in Westfield Cemetery near Grinnell. Memorials have been established for Grinnell First Friends Church and Iowa Yearly Meeting of Friends Capital Campaign - Leadership Fund and can be sent; c/o Smith Funeral home, P.O.       Survivors include three sons, David Palmer of Grinnell, Dennis Palmer of Aledo, Ill., and Tom Palmer of Salem; a daughter, Mary Ann Coppinger of Oskaloosa; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

      In addition to her husband, William Kenneth Palmer, she was preceded in death by two sisters.
