Betty Ann Cole, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. She was born June 6, 1952, in Burlington to John Wallman and Mildred Louise Rappenecker Brown. On December 10, 1977, she married Leroy Eldon Cole in Pleasant Grove. She attended kindergarten at Pleasant Grove; through 8th grade at Yarmouth; graduated from Mediapolis High School; and earned two separate degrees from Southeastern Community College.

She worked at Metromail, Motorola, Celestica, Signs and Designs, Millards and rode with her husband over the road. Betty was a member of Mt. Pleasant Women's Book Club and enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, flowers, gardening, reading books, going to small town celebrations and yard sales, and spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband, Leroy; her brother, Bob (Debbie) Brown of Yarmouth; sister, Mary (Steve) Murphy of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-law, Lila Brown of Yarmouth; nieces, nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald; half-sister, Rosanne Capeloto; and her nephew, Duane Brown.

A memorial service for Betty Cole will be held at

11 a.m. Monday, August 9, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, New London, with Reverend Trey Hegar officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment of her cremains will follow at Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, Pleasant Grove. A memorial has been established. Online condolences may be expressed at www.elliottfuneralchapel.com.
