CEDAR RAPIDS ? Betty Ann Sullivan ?Cutie Schneider,? 78, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, in her home after a long illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16, at Brosh Chapel, 2121 Bowling St. S.W. in Cedar Rapids. Burial will follow in Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel. A general memorial fund has been established.
Mrs. Sullivan was a graduate of Brighton High School, where she was a valedictorian. She went to work as a legal secretary, working at Lynch, Dallas, Smith, and Harman for more than 40 years. She was also employed by the Cedar Rapids Gazette for more than 25 years.
She enjoyed collecting Betty Boop items as her ?namesake.? She enjoyed music, doing puzzles, playing cards, bowling, going to the casino, ?game day? with family, camping, playing golf and softball and even preparing income tax returns. She was an avid sports fan. She traveled a great deal after her retirement, including a cruise across the Atlantic Ocean. Her most precious moments were spent with her family and friends, building the memories of a lifetime, especially when daughter Joni and her family were able to be a part of family celebrations.
Surviving are three daughters, Sheri Gilds and husband Randy of Anamosa, Joni Hoffman and husband Steve of Minnesota, and Pam Jensen and husband Bruce of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter J. Schneider and wife Helen of Mount Pleasant, and Gary Greene and wife Ellen of Eddyville; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alma Ann (Grotts) Greene, A.B. Greene, and Walter A. Schneider; her husband, Jim Sullivan; and one great-grandchild.
