WINFIELD ? Betty A. Bitting, 94, of Crawfordsville, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at her home.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 30, at the Spring Run Church with the Rev. Randy Whitsel officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m., Wednesday at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, where the family will meet friends from 5 to 6 p.m. A memorial has been established for Spring Run Church.
Mrs. Bitting was born July 24, 1920, in rural Columbus Junction, the daughter of Lou and Winniefred (Gipple) Hall. She married Marlen Bitting on May 10, 1938, in Iowa City.
She was a graduate of the Wyman High School, Class of 1937. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington for 10 years, and at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield for 17 years. She was a member of the Spring Run Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Louella Ferguson of Newbury Park, Calif., and Debbie Cooper of Fort Myers, Fla.; five sons, Randy of Crawfordsville, Mark of Fort Madison, David of New London, Lyndle of Keokuk, and Myron of Simi Valley, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Wanda Graber of Crawfordsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on March 18, 1999; two sisters; two brothers; and two grandchildren.
