Betty C. Dunbar, 84, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at her home. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Muscatine. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Following the committal service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church. Memorials may be directed to Our Savior Lutheran Church in memory of Betty. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for Betty’s family and her arrangements.
Betty Catharine Graf was born on January 23, 1941, in Keokuk County, Iowa, the daughter of Henry Elvin and Lillian Catherine (Blum) Graf. She was a 1959 graduate of Washington High School and then attended Drake University. On August 10, 1960, Betty was united in marriage to Dennis Dale Dunbar in Iowa City. She worked for Maeglin Insurance Company, now Miller-Harrison Insurance, Muscatine County Treasurer’s Office and volunteered at UnityPoint Health Hospital gift shop. Betty was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, where she played organ for 40 years, L.W.M.L., knitting clubs and card clubs. She enjoyed hosting gatherings and baking, but most of all, Betty loved attending her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s events.
Betty will be deeply missed by her husband, Dennis of Muscatine; children, Jeffrey (Tammy) Dunbar of Fairfield, Jeanine C. Lowman of Muscatine, Janelle Dunbar of Cedar Rapids and Jacinda (Bill) Voss of Wilton; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and siblings, Judy E. Graf of Muscatine, Henry Michael (Marsha) Graf of Riverside and Charles Douglas (Vicki) Graf of Dubuque.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and four grandchildren.
