Betty Ellen Leafgreen, 86, of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be

11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Foursquare Church with Pastor Matt Crowl officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be before the service starting at 9 a.m. Burial will follow after the luncheon at Lebanon Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with cards and memorials being mailed to Kenneth Leafgreen, 1695 Hwy. 34, Fairfield, IA 52556.

Betty was born July 19, 1933, at West Point, Iowa to Carl and Goldie (Barbee) Davis. She married Clarence Paul Leafgreen on June 28, 1952, in Fairfield. He passed away on July 20, 1995.

Betty enjoyed helping Clarence on their acreage. She was a member of the Foursquare Church, teaching many years Sunday School and Cupbearers. She enjoyed traveling with the Heritage Travel Club. Some of her interests were crocheting, watching game shows, reading westerns, fishing, listening to Christian music and doing word search. Betty looked forward to spending time with family and going out to eat with friends.

Betty will be missed by her children, Kenneth (Jill) Leafgreen, Ronald Leafgreen, Rick (Tamara) Leafgreen and Linda (Mark) Hickenbottom; seven grandchildren, Steve (Erica) Leafgreen, Dawn (Ryan) Waugh, Bobbi Jo Markle, Ryan (Joy) Leafgreen, Jamie (Nathan) Kottwitz, Amy (John) Huff and Alisha (Danny) Vandenberg; three step-grandchildren, Mandie (Sean) Conner, Michaela (Carson) Van Hooser and Whitney Hickenbottom; 13 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Donna Brown.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Goldie Davis; husband, Clarence Leafgreen; son, Larry Leafgreen; and her siblings, Richard Davis, Arthur Davis, Albert Davis, Russel Davis, Charldeane Jakubowski, and infant brother, Charles Davis.
