Betty J. Davis

    COLUMBUS JUNCTION ? Betty J. Davis, 79, of Wapello, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, in Unity Hospital in Muscatine.

    Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction, with the Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman of the Wapello United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be in Ainsworth Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the Wapello Food Pantry and the Wapello United Methodist Church.

    Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 14, 1930, in Washington, the daughter of Glen G. and Mildred Alberta (Ebner) Coakley.  She married C.L. Belzer in 1946.  The couple divorced in 1949.  She married Waldo Edwin Davis on Feb. 14, 1981, in Wapello.
