Betty Joan Dunbar, 90, of West Chester, died Monday, October 5, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospital. A private graveside service will be held in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. No funeral or visitation will be held, per her request. A memorial fund has been established for the University of Iowa Cardiac Unit or the family for last minute expenses. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Joan Dunbar was born July 25, 1930, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Ernest and Estella (Warner) Morgan. She attended school in Fairfield Iowa. On November 28, 1948, she was married to Daryl Dunbar in Washington. She had many different jobs throughout her years. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Wellman and enjoyed reading, camping, fishing and crocheting.

Survivors include three sons, Duane (Linda) Dunbar of Clarksville, TN, Ronnie (Charlotte) Dunbar of Glendale, AZ, and Tracy (Amy) Dunbar of St. Cloud, FL; five daughters, Diane (Raymond) Cline of Iowa City, IA, Delores (Michael) Lillie of West Chester, IA, Doris (Jerry) Williams of Douds, IA, Lori Billmeyer of West Chester and Janet (Larry) Knebel of Hills, IA; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding Joan in death were her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Fred Scott; sister, Jean Crawford; and brother, Monte Morgan.
