Betty L. Albright
Betty Louise Albright, 93, of Wellman, formerly of Washington, died Sunday, March 5, 2017, in Mercy Hospice in Iowa City.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 11, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Jerry Swanberg officiating. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday at the Taylor Cemetery near Drakesville. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the family.
Mrs. Albright was born Feb. 8, 1924, in rural Moulton, the daughter of Aaron Jeffie and Ruby (Tracy) Forsythe. She married Murl K. Albright on Feb. 7, 1944, in Bloomfield.
She graduated from Moulton High School and earned her teaching certificate, teaching in rural schools in the Moulton area. She was a homemaker, babysitter and cook, having worked at several local restaurants including Stateside Café Restaurant, Blue Note Café, Hardee?s, Hy-Vee Deli and Stewart School. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, crocheting, doing crossword, jigsaw and word search puzzles, and babysitting. She was a woman of strong Christian faith, reading her Bible every morning. She had a passion for spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are two children, Robert Albright of Washington, and Ella Born and husband Woody of Wellman; one daughter-in-law, Kristy Albright of Beaman; one son-in-law, Dr. David Hull of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Cathlene Horn; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Forsythe, and Freda Six; and three brothers-in-law, Marvin Bitner, Rex Stewart, and Jessie Albright.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murl, in 2006; sons, Kenneth in infancy in 1947, and Tim in 2010; daughter, Kathy Hull, in 2015; three grandchildren; two sisters; and two brothers.
