Betty L. Roche April 7, 1933 - May 15, 2004

Betty L. Roche, 71, of Burlington, died at her home at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2004.

      A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Burlington, on Thursday, May 20, 2004, with the Revs. Patrick Hilgendorf and Patrick Kneafsey officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Music will be provided by the Des Moines County Resurrection Choir. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18 and after 8 a.m. on Wednesday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington. Family will be present following the 6:30 p.m. Christian Wake Service until 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19 at the chapel. Memorials have been established to Great River Hospice and Sts. John and Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Diane "Joe" Poisel, DeLaine "Jay" Duke, and Dana "Mike" Malloy, all of Burlington; a son, Joseph P. Roche of Burlington; eight grandchildren and a brother, William Applebee of Upland, Calif.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Ben.
