Betty L. Shockley

Betty L. Shockley, 67, of 3137 Avenue M, Ft. Madison died at 12:25 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2000, at her home.

Her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 10 at the Barr Memorial Chapel in Ft. Madison with the Rev. Dan Houghtaling officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Ft. Madison. A memorial has been established. Contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.

Miss Shockley was born June 6, 1932, in Des Moines County, the daughter of Harry Allen and Alma Jane Martin Woodall. She had been an administrator and nurse's aid at Ft. Madison nursing homes. She was a resident of Ft. Madison for the past 21 years. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include one son, John A. Shockley, Sr. of Ft. Madison; two brothers, Robert Woodall of New London and William "Bill" Woodall of Ft. Madison; one sister, Esther Stimpson of Bradenton, Fla.; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Dorothy; an infant brother, Carl; one sister, Eva Watznauer; and three brothers, Roy, Frank, and Harry, Jr.
