Betty Lee Gingerich

      KALONA-Betty Lee Gingerich, 69, of Keota, died Sunday, July 22, 2007, following a brief illness, at the University of Iowa Health Care Facility in Iowa City.

      Celebration of life services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to United Christian Baptist Church and to Maplewood Manor Nursing Home.

      Mrs. Gingerich was born March 18, 1938, in Richmond, to Rudolf and Elizabeth "Betty" (Pitt) Whitmire. She married Walter James "Jim" Gingerich on Oct. 25, 1963, at the United Christian Baptist Church in Kalona. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2001.
