Betty M. Davis

Betty Marie Davis, 68, of Wayland, died Thursday, Jan. 24, at her home.

Her body has been cremated. Inurnment will be in Des Moines at a later date .Beatty Funeral Home in Washington is assisting with arrangements.

She was born Feb. 28, 1939, in Des Moines, the daughter of Edward and Martha Chandler Lock. On March 30, 1956, she married John Joseph Davis.

She lived most of her life in Des Moines as a homemaker, moving to her daughter's home in Wayland in 2007.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Davis and Mathew Davis both of Des Moines; two daughters, Brenda Yoder and her husband Edward of Wayland and Dorothy Kimmel and her husband Donald of Des Moines; a brother, Sunny Lock of Arnolds Park; two sisters, Beverly Hoops and Barbara Templeton, both of Des Moines; and several grandchildren.

Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
