Betty Pittman

      COLUMBUS JUNCTION - Betty Pittman, 89, of Muscatine, died Sunday in Bickford Cottage, where she had been a resident.

      A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, in Faith United Church of Christ in Muscatine with the Rev. Teressa Clark officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the church. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Memorials may be made to Faith United Church of Christ, Muscatine, or Witty Kitties, Inc., a special-needs shelter near Solon for cats with compromised immune systems.

      Mrs. Pittman was born Oct. 2, 1917 on her family's farm near Cranston, the daughter of Aristarchus Cone Hunter and Pansy Artelle (Pierson) Hunter. She married Donald Pittman on March 24, 1940.
