Betty Ruth Fritchen, 85, of Richland, died Saturday afternoon, February 10, 2024, at Manor House Care Center in Sigourney. She was born near Richland November, 17, 1938, the daughter of Frank Jacob and Freda Agnes Seevers Fritchen. Ruth grew up in the Richland area and graduated from Richland High School in 1956 and graduated from Central College in Pella in 1960 and became an elementary school teacher. Ruth taught 3rd grade in Prairie City, IA for 25 years, retiring in 1985 and returning to Richland. She was a member of the Richland Methodist Church and treasurer for many years. Ruth is survived by her cousins and was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, February 16, 2024, at Richland Friends Cemetery with Rev. Michael Elrod officiating. Cards may be mailed to the family: C/O Steve Fritchen, 1620 Gingko Avenue, Packwood, IA 52580. Gould Funeral Home of Richland is in charge of arrangements.
