Beulah Goldsmith January 19, 1917 - June 2, 2003

Beulah Goldsmith, 86, of Salem, died Monday. June 2, 2003 at her home.

            Mrs. Goldsmith was born January 19, 1917 near Salem, the daughter of Hanmer and Sylvia Litton Bailey. She was united in marriage to Edward Watson who preceded her in death in 1950. She married Oliver Goldsmith on January 6, 1951.

      She was a member of the Salem Congregational Church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Mrs. Goldsmith raised her family and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and her grandchildren.

      Survivors include her husband, of Salem, son Loren Watson and wife Shirley of Burlington; daughter Martha Watson Pratt and husband Bob of Salem; two brothers, Lawrence Bailey and wife Charlotte of Roland and Gary Bailey of Wilmore, Ky.; two sisters, Ruth Hesseltine of Winfield and Imogene Dorsey and her husband Harold of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, brother, Merald Bailey and sister, Louva Pickard.
