Beverley Ann Kephart, age 98, of Sigourney, Iowa, formerly of Washington, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Manor House Care Center in Sigourney, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Calling hours will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials have been established for the Brighton Community Church. Beverley was born August 31, 1926, in Hancock County, Iowa, the daughter of Sherril Oliver and Anna Opal (Jeffords) Benner. She graduated from Corwith High School in 1943, and attended Nurses Training at the Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. Beverley was united in marriage to Raymond Harold Kephart on May 5, 1946, in Clear Lake, Iowa.
Beverley lived most of her adult life in Washington County, Iowa. She attended the Grace Community Church, was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter AG, and was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge. Beverley was the church organist for 53 years at her Brighton and Washington Churches. She enjoyed music, reading, quilting, crocheting, and making afghans. She especially enjoyed traveling and camping with family and friends. After celebrating her 80th birthday, Beverley was able to travel to England and Alaska.
She is survived by four sons, Jay (Della) Kephart of Kansas City, Missouri; son, Lee (Rosemary) Kephart of Ankeny, Iowa; Lynn Kephart of Laconia, New Hampshire; and Joel (Debra) Kephart of Ollie, Iowa; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Donald Benner of Phoenix, Arizona, and sisters-in-law, Pasty Benner of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Betsy Benner of St. Peters, Minnesota.
Beverley was preceded in death by her parents, Sherril and Opal, and stepmother Lila Delvina Kephart; husband, Raymond, in 2006; daughter, Janet Kephart; sister, Shirley Jean Benner; and brothers, Phillip Benner, Lavern Benner, Jerry Benner, and Stan Benner.
