Billy Lee Luko, 55, of rural Bloomfield, Iowa, passed away on May 11, 2020, at his home. He was born Oct. 2, 1964, in Bloomfield, to parents Russell Dwayne and Shirley Ann Klicker Luko. He married Jennifer Vasquez on July 12, 2012, in Bloomfield.
Bill worked as a district mechanic for the Iowa Department of Transportation for over 30 years and worked at Brothers Market (Formerly Keith's Foods) for two years. He also farmed and raised cattle, co-owned Jefferson County Area Ambulance for 10 years, and was a reserve police officer while living in Jefferson County and Clinton County. He was a very social person, never knew a stranger and liked staying busy. While not working, he loved fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family and his little dog, Bailey.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Luko; two daughters, Amanda (Gavin) Hammes of Fairfield, Iowa, and Kelsey Luko of Packwood, Iowa; three stepchildren, Alexander, Julia and Aschelinn Brown; four grandchildren, Avrie Hammes, Liylah, Jonah and Maliah Luko; mother, Shirley Luko of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; and two sisters, Brenda (Danny) Bartlett of Springfield, Mo., and Gina Rooks of Mount Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral will be held at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Gary Brooks officiating. Cremation will follow the service. A rolling visitation without the presence of the family will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at the funeral home.
