Robert Frances "Bob" Box, 86, of Fairfield, Iowa, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021. He died at Jefferson County Health Center from complications of Alzheimer's disease.

Bob was born July 11, 1934, to Herbert and Esther Nylen Box and lived in the Ottumwa and Fairfield areas his entire life.

Prior to retirement, Bob was a grocer who established Bob's Market in Ottumwa and Bob's Barn in Fairfield. His smile, laugh, stories, dependable wisdom and quiet strength will be greatly missed and always remembered.

Bob is survived by his wife, Bonnie; eight children, Robert (Sue) Box, Susie (Bobby) Ryan, Chris Littlejohn, Michael (Bella) Box, Bonnie (Steve) McFarling, Bart (Joy) Box, Marty (Kathy) Box and Sally (Darren) Keller; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren (and two who will be born this year); great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Jim (Sue) Box; his sister, Betty Chapman; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Lyn Box; and his parents.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
