Bobby Gene Bryan

      Bobby Gene Bryan, 62, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at his home after a long illness.

      The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Walter Graffam officiating. Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Open visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at the funeral home. There will be no family visitation. A memorial has been established.

      Mr. Bryan was born May 27, 1938, in Shafter, Calif., the son of Leonard and Vesta Pierce Bryan. He married Betty Canady in Dos Palos, Calif., in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, followinng which he was a truck driver and owned his own trucking business, retiring in 1988. A member of First Assembly of God in Mt. Pleasant, he enjoyed reading the Bible and listening to Christian music. He also enjoyed gardening.

      Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jim and Rebecca Bryan and Robert Bryan, both of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Geraldine Kincade of Merced, Calif.; an uncle and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
