Bonnie Carol Craig Lewis, 72, of Cherokee Village, Ark., formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Dec. 11, 1999, at Hattiesburg, Miss.

The memorial service is pending at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. Her body has been cremated. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Lewis was born Oct. 2, 1927, at Burlington, the daughter of Clement C. and Eva Craig. She married I.J. Lewis in 1946 in Mt. Pleasant. The couple lived in Colorado for many years after they were married. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1944 and the Denver Nursing School as an LPN. She spent her life raising children, treating others, and working in nursing homes.

Survivors include four daughters, Meredith Dooley, Coos Bay, Ore.; Kristen Larson, Dallas, Texas; Julaine Azzinaro, Westchester, Calif.; Dana Fuerst, Perkinston, Miss.; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Craig, Cherokee Village, Ark.; one aunt, Irine Simmons, Mt. Pleasant; numerous cousins in southeast Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents.
