Brenda J. Sturm

Brenda J. Sturm, 67, of Ainsworth, died Thursday, April 27, 2017, in her daughter?s home in Keosauqua.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, in the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, with the Rev. Andrew Bunnell officiating. Burial will be in Kahoka Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home with family meeting friends at the time. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mrs. Sturm was born July 4, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Maude (Vickers) Morrison. She married John ?Jack? Sturm on Nov. 11, 1966 in Kahoka, Missouri. He died on Feb. 25, 2011.

She worked at Sheller Globe in Keokuk and Iowa City. She was also employed with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City as a unit clerk. She attended the Salem Church of God church in Ainsworth. She enjoyed painting and shopping, always looking for a good deal. Most of all she loved her dog Scooter and spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters. Teri Bunnell and husband Andrew of Keosauqua, and Angie Lasek and husband Dallus of Ainsworth; one son, Robert Sturm and wife Jamie of Washington; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Galen Gibb of Arkansas; a sister, Sheila Holtkamp of St. Charles, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Tony and Eric Sturm; a grandson; and a sister, Linda Newton.
