Bret Forrest McBeth, 43, of Richland, died Sunday morning October 22, 2017, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday October 27, 2017, at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Richland with Rev. Charles Adam officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery with Military Honors by Richland American Legion Post 504 and the Iowa Army National Guard. A prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday evening followed by visitation with the family. The family requests donations to the Hope Lodge in Iowa City and these may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 30748 310th Street, Richland, IA 52585. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home of Richland.
He was born June 26, 1974, in Washington, the son of Forrest (Frosty) and Deanna Chalupa McBeth. Bret grew up in Richland and graduated from Pekin High School in 1993. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard, and held several jobs including: Service Technician for Ferrell Gas in Fairfield, heavy equipment operator for Estle Construction Co, truck driver, factory welder, was a member of ABATE of Iowa District 14, and a drummer in the Blues Casters Band. Bret had many interests: hunting, fishing, boating, playing cards, music, time with his friends and he was a Workaholic.
Bret is survived by his mother, Deanna McBeth of Richland; his father, Forrest (Frosty) McBeth of Sigourney; two sisters: Brenda Campbell (Wade) of Parkersburg, Iowa and Jessica Ellis of Richland; two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
