Brett Anderson was born Aug. 15, 1955, in Ithaca, N.Y., to Donald and Shirley Caldwell Anderson. The family resided in Amherst, Mass., where his father was a professor at a local college. After graduating high school, Brett followed his passion for art to Colorado, where he graduated with an art degree. In 1980, he moved to Fairfield, Iowa, and began working in the kitchen at Maharishi International University, as well as completing his MBA. In 2012, Brett met the love of his life, Shanti White. The two were married on June 6, 2015, at the St. Gabriel Church in Fairfield, Iowa. Brett was currently working for the university as a senior associate working with students on their job placements. He was a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation and spent five years as a part of the Invincible America Assembly.
