Brian Jay Mahanna

      KALONA - Brian Jay Mahanna, 45, of Wellman, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from injuries suffered while working on a car at his home.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19 in the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona with the Rev. Rich Adam officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established at Hills Bank for Ashley Mahanna College Fund.

      Mr. Mahanna was born Feb. 27, 1963, in Iowa City, the son of Donald and Edna (Beachy) Mahanna. He married Barbara Barry on Aug. 29, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nev.
