C. Christopher Heartsill

C. Christopher Heartsill, 68, of Salem, died Tuesday, June 24, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday, June 27, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, with family present from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Open Bible Church, with the Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Salem East Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for the Salem Fire Department and Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City.

He was born Sept. 17, 1939, in Springer, Okla., the son of Tonch and Helen Gibson Heartsill. On June 22, 1963, he married Betty Haushahn in Salem.
